A British elected representative calls for the cancellation of a concert by Marilyn Mansonmouth, reviving the controversy around the artist as he approached his European tour.
Political pressure despite the abandonment of prosecution
As reported by BBCMillie Earl, head of the Bournemouth municipal council, Christchurch and Poole (BCP), asked for the cancellation of Marilyn Manson’s concert scheduled for October 31 at Bournemouth International Center. Although the accusations brought against the singer were undoubtedly classified in early 2025 by the Los Angeles prosecutor – due to the lack of evidence and the prescription – the manager considers that this coming goes against the “community values”.
In a statement, she explains that she wrote to BH Live, room manager, to express her concerns. Even if the Council has no legal power on programming, Millie Earl wishes to “remember that the violence against women and girls are unacceptable in our society”.
Manson back, between tensions and Renaissance
Accused publicly since 2021, Marilyn Manson – Brian Warner in the civil status – had been sidelined by the music industry and had withdrawn from the scene. After several years of silence, he started a gradual return with a new album, One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1 (released in November 2024 via Nuclear Blast), and a world tour.
Its European tour will go through several French -speaking cities this fall: Nantes (November 9), Paris (11), Antwerp (13), Bern (22) and Grenoble (23). In an interview with Wired In The EmpireBassist Piggy D. said: “It’s incredible to see someone regain control of their life. He is inspiring.”
Despite local protests, the Bournemouth concert remains confirmed to date.
