Three young men who would have committed a collective rape on a woman were arrested shortly after the fact, late Wednesday evening in Sherbrooke, in Estrie.
These are witnesses who communicated with the 911 a little before 11 pm to bring back a “dispute between tenants” in a residential building on rue Short.
When they arrived at the scene, the police were arrested by a man who pointed out to them that a woman was crying for help in a second floor accommodation.
The agents rushed into the apartment where they found a woman in distress, crying and “visibly in bad posture”, said the Sherbrooke authorities.
On the spot, the police arrested three men aged 19 to 22, suspected of armed sexual assault against the victim.
The three suspects were to appear at the Sherbrooke Justice Palace during Thursday, under the accusation of armed sexual assault.
The police force did not provide more details as to the circumstances of the event, nor on the weapon which would have been used during the perpetration of the crime.
