A driver strikes a business and seriously injured a passerby in Saint-Léonard

A driver rushed into a business in Saint-Léonard trying to park, hitting a woman who is now fighting for her life on Friday.

The Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) was called around 2 p.m. to go to Bélanger Street, near rue de Choisy, due to a collision near a business.

The authorities found a woman trapped under a vehicle embedded in a business, said Caroline Chèvrefils, spokesperson for the SPVM.

The victim, a 59 -year -old woman, was quickly taken care of by paramedics for injuries in the upper and lower body. Although she was aware of the arrival of emergency services, she is now based in critical, but stable, at the end of the evening

The driver, a 31 -year -old woman, suffered a nervous shock at the time of the facts. She was not transported to the hospital center.

According to first information from the police, the driver tried to park her VEU type vehicle when she made a false maneuver. She then rushed in the trade, happing the other woman at the same time.

A perimeter has been erected to allow investigators to better understand the circumstances surrounding this event.

Witnesses were met by the authorities. The latter will also be able to learn by means of “possible surveillance cameras”, said the spokesperson.
