Tulsi Gabbard, director of national intelligence, accuses the Obama administration of having “manufactured and politicized information to lay the foundations” of the FBI investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 elections.
She denounces “a traitness conspiracy”. Tulsi Gabbard, Director of National Intelligence (DNI) – whose appointment by Donald Trump had aroused significant controversy – requests legal proceedings against Barack Obama and former senior US national security officials, reports the American press, including Guardian and CNN.
She denounces “a conspiracy” initiated by them in 2016 to demonstrate that Donald Trump’s victory in the presidential election was due to Russian interference. To prove this “conspiracy”, Tulsi Gabbard declassified this Saturday 19 July a series of documents that would prove, according to her, that the former American president and her relatives “prepared the field for a coup of several years” against Donald Trump, who had defeated Hillary Clinton that year.
Barack Obama and a list of senior officials would have for this “manufactured and politicized information” suggesting that Moscow had influenced the ballot and thus trigger an FBI investigation into this case.
“Their objective was to usurp the power of President Trump and to subvert the will of the American people,” she adds in a message posted on X.
“Rewrite history”
Tulsi Gabbard announces that it has transmitted “all documents to the Ministry of Justice to be sent back to criminal”, believing that “whatever their authority, any person involved in this conspiracy must be the subject of an investigation and prosecution to the extent permitted by law. The integrity of our Democratic Republic depends on it.”
This exit from the American intelligence manager aroused the indignation of the Democratic camp, who denounces an “attempt to rewrite history”. In 2016, “the senatorial intelligence committee conducted a bipartite investigation, examining hundreds of thousands of documents and questioning witnesses for several years. The unanimous conclusion and Bipartite is that Russia interfered in the 2016 election for the benefit of Donald Trump,” said Democratic Senator Mark Warner of Virginie in a statement.
And to add: “This is only a new example of the DNI attempt to falsify accounts, rewrite history and erode confidence in the intelligence agencies that it is supposed to direct.”
Barack Obama has not yet reacted to these accusations.
