A Sherbrooke teacher accused of sexual gestures towards a minor

Mathieu Desroches, then a teacher at Bromptonville high school, appeared Thursday at the Sherbrooke courthouse for crimes of a sexual nature towards a minor under the age of 16.

The suspect faces three charges, including two accusations of computer lure and an accusation of incitement to sexual contact.

He would have had a relationship via social networks with a student under the age of 16.

The facts would have occurred between June 1 and July 1, 2025.

Mathieu Desroches is no longer used for the school.

We take this situation with the greatest seriousness and we fully collaborate with the Sherbrooke police servicedeclares Mr. François Tessier, director general of theESB. We invite anyone who has relevant information to transmit it directly to the police authorities.

He will be back in court on September 25.
