The City of Bulle launches the revision of its local development plan (PAL) and invites the population to participate actively in the process, as it announced in a press release published this Monday. A public information session will take place on September 8 at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall, followed by an online survey open until September 28.

This revision comes 15 years after the last UP update, in accordance with legal requirements. The document determines regional planning rules and must reconcile housing, mobility, public infrastructure, commercial attractiveness and environmental protection. The municipality wishes to adapt its territorial development to the current context of strong population growth.

A participatory process in several stages

The participatory approach is aimed at all people living, working or attending Bulle. After the information session of September 8, an online survey will collect the perceptions and needs of the population. Participants will also be able to express their interest in the following steps in the process.

Diagnostic walks will be organized this fall in different districts to identify the challenges specific to each sector. These field meetings will be completed by thematic workshops. The entire process will be concluded with a public exhibition presenting the results of the revision and the main orientations selected.

Multiple objectives for municipal development

The revision aims for several objectives: promote the creation of quality housing, strengthen social ties and quality of life, support the local economic fabric and promote sustainable mobility modes. The municipality also intends to contribute to adaptation to climate change and ensure consistency with regional, cantonal and federal planning.

All information relating to this approach is available on the Municipality site. The information session of September 8 is open to everyone, without prior registration.
