Norwegian Tobias Johannesen experienced a particularly difficult end of the stage Tuesday, in the ascent of Mont Ventoux, theater of the 16th stage of the Tour de France 2025. In a statement published this Mecredi morning on Instagram, his team detailed the intervention of medical services. “Tobias has received oxygen and 500 ml of saline solution intravenously in the context of emergency care,” said it. The runner was then transported to the Carpentras hospital center, where he underwent complete examinations (ultrasound, radiographs, blood tests and ECG) which revealed no anomaly.

Medical green light to continue the tour
After a few minutes of rest and additional examinations at the hospital, Tobias Johannesen feels “much better”, according to the press release.
“He will take the start of the 17th stage today, while we are about to live in the last difficult days of the Tour de France,” concluded UNO-X Mobility, while thanking the medical teams mobilized on Tuesday.
