Swisscom’s benefit continued to drop in the first half

The telecoms giant Swisscom continued to suffer in the first half of the erosion of its activities in Switzerland. The resumption of Vodafone in Italy did not make it possible to stop the negative trend, both in terms of income and profitability. Net profit dropped a quarter.

On a pro formal basis, the half-yearly turnover has packed 2.3% at an annual rate at 7.45 billion francs, the ex-Federal Regeries said on Thursday. Corrected exchange fluctuations, the decline amounted to 1.4%.

In terms of profitability, the result before interest, taxes, depreciation and depreciation after leasing costs (Ebitdal) signed up to 2.47 billion, which represents a decrease of 5.5% or -3.1% at constant exchange rates. The reported exploitation surplus (EBIT) reached 946 million. Net profit plunged a quarter (-25.2%) to 625 million francs.

The figures published are lower than the average forecasts of the analysts questioned by the AWP agency.

The objectives are maintained, with Vodafone Italia

Swisscom claims investments of 1.49 billion francs over the first six months of the year, compared to the 1.61 billion in the first half of 2024. The operating cash flow fell from 1.7% to 986 million.

The management renews the 2025 objectives. Swisscom still tables revenue from 15.0 to 15.2 billion francs, the contribution of Vodafone Italia included. Operating profit is expected at around 5.0 billion. If these objectives are achieved, the dividend will be increased to 26 francs per share, a first since 2010.

The group also provides investments of 3.1-3.2 billion francs, including around 1.7 billion in Switzerland.
