Météo-France has placed three departments of the Southeast in red vigilance for forest fires for Wednesday July 16. Furthermore, Bouches-du-Rhône, Var and Vaucluse, due to a “Very high risk” fires.

The Aude and the Bouches-du-Rhône were struck last week by magnitude fires. In Marseille. where the fire had won the north of the city, the fire made several dozen light wounded, mainly by inhalation of smoke, and degraded nearly 90 homes, including a majority that became uninhabitable.

Due to these risk of fire. the prefects of the departments concerned have taken decrees of“strict prohibition” access to many massifs in the region.
In the Bouches-du-Rhône. a large device is planned in advance, with 570 firefighters preposed around 30 strategic points, 500 others mobilizable in barracks and the expected reinforcement of three columns from other departments.
Same thing in the Var with in particular 220 prepositioned firefighters. five water bombardier helicopters, including four rented, two Canadair preposed in Hyères and two columns from elsewhere.
In the Vaucluse, 54 firefighters supported by 15 vehicles will also be preposed with in addition a bombardier of water helicopter available.
