Météo-France placed the Aude department on red vigilance due to a very high risk of forest fires for this Tuesday, August 5. According to an article by our colleagues from the Independent, nine other departments are now on orange alert for the same risk, two more than Sunday. In addition to the Aude, where the danger is maximum, the risk of fire is considered high in the Pyrénées-Orientales, Hérault, Gard, Vaucluse, Bouches-du-Rhône, Ardèche, Var, as well as, this Tuesday, in Haute-Garonne and Tarn-et-Garonne.

According to Météo-France, “the weather conditions make the risk of departure and propagation of forest and vegetation lights particularly high compared to summer normal” in the Aude. Météo-France recalls that this vigilance card aims to alert the population so that everyone can adapt their behavior to the danger. It is established according to the weather forecast and the level of dryness of the vegetation.
