“Angry” employees to return to work at the office

After years of teleworking, more and more Canadian employees are forced to return to work at the office full -time – or almost. Rogers and the TD bank have joined a growing number of employers to impose such policies, which arouse workers’ discontent.

Methodology:

The online survey of the Angus Reid Institute was led from July 18 to 22 with 1918 Canadian adults. For comparison, for a probabilistic sample of this size, the margin of error would be +/- 1.5 %, 19 times out of 20.

The figures also show that 51 % of employees who say they have been forced to return to the office more often say they are angry or very angry.

Despite the strong opposition of many employees, several major banks-such as Toronto-Dominion (TD), SCOTIA, BMO and the Royal Canada Bank (RBC), whose offices are very close to the station-began to impose a return to the office four days a week this fall. Little appeal for employees

Ms. Boilard adds that, for employees, it is often difficult to justify a return to the imposed office.
