Good news, but for whom? Tax reimbursements for the 2025 income tax campaign 2024 are starting this Friday. Indeed, part of the French who have been too much deducted during the past year will automatically receive a refund from the Directorate General of Public Finances (DGFIP) by transfer or by check. Here are the people who are concerned, according to RMC Conso.
Between 10 and 16 million households
There is generally no surprise. Taxpayers who will be reimbursed are those whose “reporting notice for income tax” (ASDIR) at the end of the declaration made in the spring indicated that they had been too much levied last year. Several reasons may explain this.
First of all, a change of family situation declared too late, such as the arrival of a child or a marriage. Then, in the event of a source deduction, a significant drop in income which has not been accompanied by a drop in the rate or a significant increase in income accompanied by an excessive increase in the rate. These four cases cover a lot of cases since 10 to 16 million households receive a refund each year. Last year, the average amount of the latter was 908 euros on average.
Second wave on August 1
For the people concerned, everything happens automatically. The reimbursement, which sticks with the digital shipment of the tax notice, will be effective either this Friday, July 25, or Friday, August 1, this double date making it possible to better manage the flow. He will take the form of a transfer sent directly to the bank account communicated to the DGFIP, will carry the “Revenue Revenues” label and will come from “DGFIP Public Finances”. Without bank details provided to the tax administration before the end of June, a check will be sent directly to the home.
As for the amount of the reimbursement, it is possible to know it by going to the “Documents” tab of its particular space on impots.gouv.fr. Finally, note that for people who, on the other hand, have a debt to the administration, the samples will start on September 25.
