Bedbugs prevent a woman from receiving medical aid to die at home

A woman from Chicoutimi who asked for medical aid to die will not be able to receive her at home because of an infestation of bedbugs in the dwelling to the low rent (HLM) where she resides.

It was not what I wanted. I didn’t want to end my life like that. I cry every day because I don’t sleep, I get stuck … I’m disgusteddrop Guylaine Bouchard.

She asked to receive medical aid to die on September 11, since she is composed with serious health problems. She wanted to live her last days at her house, but due to the infestation in her accommodation located on rue Le Doré, it is no longer possible.

I am at the end of my life, I am stung everywhere. […] I’m going to tell you something, it’s not livable in that.

Ms. Bouchard denounces the management of the file by the municipal housing office (OMH) of Saguenay, who oversees her accommodation. She claims that the HLM has been with bedbugs for over a year.

Guylaine Bouchard also deplores that the tenant who is behind the infestation still lives in the building and that several residents still have to deal with this problem, several months after the first report.

I was brewing and brewed … I threw laundry, I threw furniture. I got rid of many things because he had too much. It fits into the equipment, it comes everywhereshe says.

They say it’s in our head. […] Until the end of my life, I’m going to fight. I have 26 days left to liveshe said.

A poster was installed on the tenants’ doors.

The situation is under controlaccording to OMH

L’. \ T Affirms for its part that inspections are done regularly in the HLM apartments located on rue Le Doré and that the situation is controlled.

The deputy director general of the organization, Adam Boivin, acknowledges that the accommodation is affected by a Bugs problem.

It overflowed in two, three or four dwellings. Tenants’ participation was more difficult. We went to pick up prescriptions to make them participate, make them collaborate to eliminate the bedbugs. There is a pack of factors that comes into playhe specifies.

Adam Boivin adds that bedbugs are difficult to eliminate and to get rid of it completely requires time.

When you arrive in an apartment block, there are four, five or six dwellings and it is infected in different dwellings, it is more difficult to control and to regain control. For the moment, on rue Le Doré, the situation is under controlhe says.

The deputy director general of the. \ T Also ensures that a discussion will take place with Guylaine Bouchard in order to find a solution.
