A second victory before the other championship and the Tour de France

The Gentlemen ‘elites were the only category of the day to have to travel the 20.1 kilometers around Brasschaat twice. At the first passage on the line, Remco Evenepoel had already accumulated 40 seconds ahead of the second best intermediate time, that of Vermeersch. In the second half of the course, the winner even resumed Segaert, 2nd in 2023 and 2024 and left 90 seconds before him. The Belgian champion will only get his jersey on the podium for the moment, since he will continue to wear the rainbow at least until the next Worlds planned in Kigali (Rwanda) September 21.

Last year, the current world champion and Olympic of the specialty favored its preparation for its first Tour de France and skips. With this victory, he demonstrates that he remains one of the masters of the discipline since he had also made everyone agree during the Tour de Romandie and the Dauphiné a few weeks ago.

The National 2025 is the 20th victory for Schepdael’s arrow over the timed exercise. Evenepoel now has 63 successes over his entire career including 3 this season.
