“It is especially during interviews, such as cleaning the brake pads, that asbestos fibers contained in the platelets can be inhaled,” warns Mr. Pieters. “Asbestos is fatal. Exposure to asbestos fibers causes cancer. It is necessary to fight as much as possible against the arrival of these products, but it seems to me to go without saying that the public authorities must proactively warn garage owners, the technical control sector and consumers, by not being content with a simple alert via an underlying European system,” he said.
