Recently took place near Roanne the last of the five innings of the French Cup of National Division 2 of female cycling. Once again, the Albigensians shone. This allows them to finish in 3rd place in the Cup and to respect the objective set at the start of the season by the manager and sports director of the Albi Vélo Sport team, Claudia Carieroni-Gilles.
Before this last race, the Albigensians were followed by the Savoyard volunteers of Prat-sur-Arly.
To face a selective course without a flat portion, the team aligned an “eight” of choice with confirmed girls (Manon Souyris, Fannie Etivals, Viviane Rogenant), the young Occitan talents (Lili Calmont and Maylis Lacroix), the new French champion Masters Gwenaëlle Legere as well as the two foreign licensees, the Brazilian champion Coelho and Israeli champion Tamar Bezalel.
Motivated, the “oranges and blue” produced a remarkable team race, gleaning points to the “best climber” and offering the team a group shot on arrival, classifying three of them in the first twelve out of 100 riding and thus confirming a good third place to the general of the French Cup.
