While he has just played the Spiegelberg Festival in the Franches-Montagnes and will be at the Paléo Festival in Nyon in July, the Zurich Folk-Pop group Black Sea also conquers Europe. The release of their third album in February 2026 has also just been announced with a new title.

Concert after concert, song after piece, the Black Sea Dahu group forged a solid reputation. Created in 2012 by the author, composer and performer Janine Cathrein, the Zurich training started under the name of Josh and is made up of family members, her sister Vera in particular, and close friends.

In 2018, the name of the group changed for Black Sea Dahu and the first album, “White Creatures”, was born. Swiss and international criticisms are positive and the public success of this folk-pop pearl is there.

Three years of tour

Over the past three years, Black Sea Dahu has passed them on tour. And it was on the road, as soon as she has five minutes during the soundchecks, that Janine Cathrein composes. “But it’s very difficult to finish a song when you’re on tour. Now, I’m trying to shoot the brake, in one way or another, so that we have time to write new titles,” she said in June 19:30.

What inspires her for her songs is the connection with people: “Because today, even if everything is going too fast, even if social media is omnipresent, if everything happens on the internet, human experience, it should not underestimate it”.

A third album

With “One Day Will Be All I Have”, the first title of the third album of Black Sea Dahu announced for February 20, 2026, it is clear that it should not be underestimated the creation capacity of the Zurich group. AfterI am my mother “, released in 2022, this long -awaited third disc will undoubtedly be, like the previous ones, synonymous with sorrow, hope, sharing and love.

Already scheduled at the Docks de Lausanne in April 2026 to present this new album, the group continues by then its European tour which notably goes through the Paléo Festival de Nyon this summer.
