The CHUV maintains its label of excellence for four years
The center of the breast of the Vaud university hospital has passed its certification audit. Beyond medical care, the establishment offers spaces for exchange and support for its patients.
The CHUV breast center has obtained the renewal of its Q-Label certification for an additional four years, as indicated by a press release published by the hospital this Thursday. This rectification, awarded by the Swiss League against Cancer and the Swiss Senology Society, confirms the quality of the management of patients with breast cancer.
On May 6, an audit team assessed the center according to 70 strict quality criteria. These standards, based on European Eusoma standards, guarantee high -level specialized and multidisciplinary care. The audit has validated all the criteria, allowing the center to maintain this national recognition for the next four years.
An engine role in the evolution of practices
Under the direction of Dr Khalil Zaman, the CHUV breast center plays an active role in the development of senology practices. The audit team particularly praised the dynamism of the establishment and its capacity for innovation. The Center is involved in particular in the annual revision of clinical practices recommendations for French -speaking centers, thus contributing to the harmonization and continuous improvement of care in the region.
This certification also testifies to the structured organization of the center and its constant desire to innovate. The establishment promotes professional exchanges and actively participates in the evolution of medical practices, both regional and national.
Exchange and support spaces for patients
Beyond medical care, the center of the breast offers throughout the year various activities adapted to the needs of people affected by the disease. Individual interviews, speaking groups, thematic workshops and public conferences allow patients to discuss their experiences and receive practical information.
Among the proposed initiatives include information workshops on the metabolic effects of treatments, “coffee sexology” to address questions of intimacy, as well as conferences with the participation of patients. The events of pink October mobilize caregivers every year, patients and the general public around awareness of breast cancer.
These activities aim to encourage self -determination of patients and support them in the autonomous management of their health. Personalized support, combining listening, information and practical support, provides a reassuring and respectful framework at each stage of the care path.
