He also spoke with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State, accompanied by Mgr Paul Richard Gallagher, secretary for relations with states and international organizations. Bilateral relations between the Holy See and Poland were at the center of the discussions.

Pope Léon XIV welcomed in the morning of July 3 at the Apostolic Palace, Andrzej Duda, whose presidency officially ends in August 2025.
According to a press release from the Holy See press room, President Andrzej Duda then met Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State, who was accompanied by Mgr Paul Richard Gallagher, secretary for relations with states and international organizations.
“During the cordial discussions which took place at the Secretary of State, the two parties expressed their mutual assessment of the solid bilateral relations between the Holy See and the Republic of Poland. The conversation was also an opportunity to exchange views on the country’s current socio -political situation ”, said the press release.
The Holy See press room specifies that “Reunion continued by emphasizing international issues, with particular attention to the war current in Ukraine”.
