Eric Brown obtained the best ranking for Canada at the start of the free water swimming competition on Wednesday at the World Aquatics World Championships in Singapore.

Brown, which represents the Pointe-Claire swimming club, finished 21e Men’s 10 km marathon. His time of 2: 04: 04.6 Place 4: 09.1 behind Florian Wellbrock of Germany, who won the race in Sentosa (Palawan Green).

Free water swimmers will be back in action on Friday (Thursday evening in Canadian time zones) with the 5 km events. They will also participate in the 3 km elimination sprint races starting at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Saturday (8 p.m. and 10 p.m. HE Friday).
