(Montreal) The Syndicate of Posts workers has just been dismissed by the court in his complaint of unfair practices which he had filed against Canada Posts.
The Canadian Council for Industrial Relations rejected the complaint that the union had filed, on June 3, after Post Canada made public its offers to the union and asked the Federal Employment Minister to order a vote of the unionized on these offers.
The union alleged that Posts Canada had thus negotiated directly with its members, not respecting the fact that it is he who is the negotiating agent of the working conditions of his 55,000 members.
The Administrative Court, specializing in issues of labor relations to the federally, rejected this interpretation. He judged that “the employer’s communications have no anti -union affirmation or any contemptuous reference to the union or the positions he adopts, and they did not harm the union against the employees of the negotiation units”.
The reasons for the court decision has not yet been written; They will follow soon.
