A chain collision on the A1 motorway near Neuenhof (AG) Friday evening caused the fire of four vehicles. No one was injured, but four occupants of fire cars were taken to hospital for a hint of smoke intoxication.
(Keystone-ATS) A motorist who slowed down in the direction of Berne-Zurich, probably because on the front tracks several vehicles were down, is at the origin of the chain collision. In addition, one of the vehicles involved caught fire, the flames spreading to three others, the Argovian police said on Saturday.
The collision occurred in the semi-covered gallery area of ​​Neuenhof. Due to the fire and the strong smoke clearance, many people had to leave their car and get safe. Four of them had to be hospitalized for respiratory control, the cantonal police said.
The A1 remained closed for almost an hour and a half in the direction of Zurich, but the traffic remained hampered beyond 9:00 p.m. An investigation was opened to establish the exact circumstances of the accident.
