Longueuil police received three calls in 48 hours, “including potential victims” following the call to the public launched Wednesday after the arrest of two young men suspected of pimping.
The Longueuil Agglomeration Police Service (SPAL) announced that Jeffrey Beauchemin and Mathieu Desrosiers, 21, may have made other victims. They face various accusations, including pimping, material advantages and advertising, substances trafficking, extortion and also sexual assault on adult women.
Of the three calls received by the police, the spokesperson for the SPAL, Mélanie Marcil, indicates that there are possible victims “who must be encountered”. “Sometimes they want to tell us, but don’t want to file a complaint. Some want to give information on the suspects, or point out that they have known that it happened with their friends or around them, ”she says.
It was following “several denunciations concerning sexual exploitation activities that have taken place in recent years, especially in the sectors of Longueuil and the city of Quebec,” said SPAL, that the two men had been arrested.
