In June, Openai presented new Chatgpt features specially designed for companies. In addition to the connectors that allow AI to use user’s documents on storage services like Google Drive, Openai has also announced a feature called “Fashion Record”. When activated, it allows AI to save audio on the user’s computer, transcribe and produce useful notes or documents from this transcription.
However, at launch, the fashion record was only available on the Chatgpt Team subscription. But, the good news is that this feature is now offered on the Chatgpt Plus subscription, the standard OpenAi subscription. “In recording mode, Chatgpt can transcribe and summarize audio recordings, such as meetings, brainstormings or vocal notes. These summaries are saved in the form of canvas in your cat history and can be transformed into useful results, such as project plans, emails or even code”explains Openai in a help page. The functionality can be of great use during a meeting, since the user will no longer need to take notes, and will therefore be able to focus on the meeting.

A functionality only available on macOS
Unfortunately, to use this powerful functionality, you should not only have a chatgpt plus subscription, but also use a Mac. Indeed, Openai only offers record mode functionality on its application for macOS. To start the recording, simply press the new recording button next to the text field. OPENAI also specifies that the records have a maximum duration of 120 minutes per session.
Otherwise, with regard to the confidentiality of recordings, here is what Openai writes: “The audio records in recording mode are only used for transcription purposes and are then deleted. We do not use these audio recordings to train our models.” On the other hand, the transcriptions and “canvas” generated thanks to these recordings to improve its artificial intelligence models, if the user activates the option which authorizes Openai to do so in the settings.
