CPAS medical help switches to Mediprima from September 1st

From September 1, 2025, health care supported by CPAS will have to be charged exclusively via the MediPrima computer system. This digitization concerns all medical aid outside urgent medical aid (friend), indicate the federal authorities.

Mediprimima covers the entire process: from the decision to grant aid by the CPAS to registration in a centralized database, until the automated reimbursement of service providers by the CAAMI (Auxiliary Health Insurance Fund).

For doctors, this means that they will no longer have to transmit the certificates of given care (ASD) or invoices to the CPAS of the Patient Municipality. The services must now be billed electronically via Etar-Mediprima, a module integrated into medical software. If the tool is not yet operational, its implementation is underway, specify the authorities.

Refunds will be provided by CAAMI, on behalf of the Federal Public Service Social Integration.

Exceptions are however planned: doctors who have reached the age of 67 on January 1, 2023 can continue to invoice on paper, as well as in the event of force majeure or technical problem.

In the event of difficulty linked to electronic billing, doctors are invited to contact the CAAMI by e-mail at mediprimrimais address
