It’s official! At the bend of a call with its investors, Pearl Abyss announced a postponement of several months for its future RPG. Crimson Desert will not see the light of day before the start of next year, more precisely between January and March.
Official announcement
“Before the question and answer session, I would like to share an update on the progress and the calendar of exit from Crimson Desert, a subject which arouses a lot of interest. Currently, the game is in the recording of votes and console certification, with a view to its release. On the marketing side, we will participate in Gamescom and the Pax West in August to present our open world version. In September, we will be at the Tokyo Game Show to strengthen our presence on the Japanese market.
The launch of Crimson Desert, our first AAA game on console, is postponed from a quarter compared to the initial calendar. This decision results from longer than expected deadlines related to coordination and collaboration with several partners for physical distribution, votes, console certification and other preparations. We regret not being able to hold the initial objective of an exit in the fourth quarter. This postponement is a strategic choice aimed at ensuring large -scale success.
The release is now scheduled for the first quarter of 2026. Due to this change, the precise date will be announced later, depending on commercial criteria, and not during Gamescom next week. We thank you for your interest and we make every effort to provide a better quality experience. »»
Crimson Desert will be launched on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S PC.
