Health. Diab’aide52 is a brand new 1901 law association, based in Laferté-sur-Aube, not far from Châteauvillain. She engages alongside people with type 1 and 2 diabetes by providing support, advice and information.
Active on its Facebook page, the association already offers benevolent exchanges and daily resources, as well as listening via Messenger.
Salvatorangelo and Cédric are responsible for raising awareness, informing, advising and supporting diabetic patients, in particular those in denial (young), isolated and often elderly and psychological support for people with diabetes. Salvatorangelo – 40 years of juvenile 1 diabetes – is a volunteer with French Federation of Diabetics and in training to become an expert patient volunteer. Cédric who is medico-psychological help provides support on the psychological and relational side. Daily, it is not easy to live and manage in order to promote the management of the disease. The activities to achieve this objective are in particular: to organize interactive meetings and workshops, carry out awareness campaigns on the dangers of diabetes, distribute flyers in primary schools for children and parents, public places and health centers, collaborate with associations and health professionals, collect testimonials from patients who have overcome denial, offer healthy refreshments.
Local and solidarity network
Diab’aide52 will intensify its actions in the department: prevention in primary schools, free screening in villages and cities, meetings between diabetics and relatives to share testimonies and lived, information meetings with health professionals to follow advances in terms of treatments and therapies.
