Do you have concentration problems? These headphones of the future are made for you

In recent years, headsets and headphones with an anti -grip system have gained popularity, both among public transport users and among workers who wish to focus on their missions without winning every two thirty. But Vox presents an invention which, if it manages to democratize, could squarely revolutionize the daily life of some of us.

In our time, concentration problems are legion. This is where the creation of the neurable start-up comes in: a helmet equipped with a brain-computer interface which captures electrical signals of the organ and uses algorithms to interpret these data. When the person carrying the helmet begins to lose their concentration, the device guesses it and intervenes.

Soon an ally against depression?

The principle may seem frightening, but as Adam Clark Estes explains, a journalist who was able to test the famous helmet, it does not read in the thoughts of its user. He is content to collect brain data using a combination of electroencephalography sensors (EEG). This technology already very to the point should soon integrate other devices, whether they are headphones or glasses.

Neurable also offers to use the recordings made to help you follow and improve your brain health. For Vox, this EEG -based technology could even, ultimately, make it possible to detect symptoms of depression, even early signs of Alzheimer’s disease.

“Biologically, your brain is designed to hide your weaknesses: it is an effect of evolution”explains Ramses Alcaide, neurable and neuroscientific co -founder. “But when you measure at the source, you detect these phenomena as they occur, rather than once they have downstream consequences, and this is the real advantage of measuring the brain.”

After having tested the helmet offered by neurable in real conditions for a long time, the journalist says he is very convinced, without being completely convinced that this is not partly due to the placebo effect. But by the way, how does the helmet react when he understands that your concentration is dissolving slowly? Nothing dangerous for the brain: he simply offers to take a break before the user could have realized that he needs it. It may seem futile, but for a number of people, it could really change the situation.
