Doctors have decided: goodbye the feta, this cheese is the least fatty to enhance your summer salads

In summer, compound salads become the stars on our plates. To give them a taste, nothing like adding cheese. So when you try to reconcile taste and lightness pleasure, a question arises: which of these cheeses is the least fatty? Doctors have examined the issue and their conclusions could shake up your habits.

Should we avoid cheese in its salads?

Gourmet friends, difficult to decide when each of these cheeses brings its unique touch. But at a time when you try to treat your line without sacrificing the taste, it is legitimate to wonder which cheese to choose to sublimate your salads without weighing down the balance. “The answer is simple!”says the doctor Corinne Chicortiche-Ayachea nutritionist doctor with our colleagues fromAllo doctor. “If we make sure to consume less than 40 g in total per day, why choose? You might as well alternate and diversify your dishes with different cheeses! ”

The specialist insists on an essential point: do not demonize the cheese. “The high fat content of these cheeses should not make us forget their nutritional qualities such as the richness in protein and calcium”recalls the Dre Chicheportiche-Ayache. Thus, even the most calorie cheeses can have their place in a balanced diet, provided you limit the portions. Everything is therefore a question of moderation and variety.

Feta, Mozzarella, Halloumi: What is the least fatty cheese?

But if we had to designate a champion of lightness, a cheese stands out. Mozzarella wins the least fatty cheese palm: only 260 calories per 100 g, against 286 for the feta and more than 300 for the halloumi. On the fat side, it displays 23 %, compared to 24 % for the halloumi and 25 % for the FETA. Figures that make all the difference when you monitor your consumption.

Another strong point of mozzarella: its low salt content. “Note also that the salt content of the FETA and the Halloumi are high (respectively 2.5 g and 3 g per 100 g of product) while it is almost insignificant for mozzarella”underlines the Dre Chicheportiche-Ayache. A major asset for people subject to hypertension or cardiovascular problems.
