Does the Tour de France female arouse the same craze as that of men?

The Tour de France women was passing through Poitou-Charentes, and particularly in Vienne. Confidential in 2021, he is now growing and attracting crowds.

Impressions collected during the passage of the Tour de France female between Saumur and Poitiers this Tuesday, July 29. Our team positioned itself in Ouzilly in Vienne in the Côte de Marigny, the main difficulty of this fourth stage.

Three hours before the runners, the first people have already positioned themselves along the road. This is the case of Louis and Marinette, sitting in their armchairs. They found the best place to see them pass: “We saw them in the previous stages, they are great, they have as much merit as men”.

At the start of 2021, the women’s Tour de France was still confidential. The fervor for these runners has mounted and over the years and the female Tour de France has grown. More teams, more stages, more kilometers for each new edition. In 2025, for its fourth edition, and in view of the number of people who support them, the Tour de France female aroused the same craze as that of men. A fairly new phenomenon.

While waiting for the runners, on the road, the mascots heat the public. Dressed in a rooster costume, one of them evokes his joy for this event: “The time to broadcast the longest steps is increasing. Last year was around two hours and there, it’s two and a half hours. In a few years, we will have the complete step like boys”.

And as for men, the passage of the advertising caravan also attracts all lusts.

In front of our camera, a passerby launches: “Long live the Tour”.

Finally, this is the long -awaited moment! When the runners arrive, Marigny’s rating turned into a real popular cauldron with hundreds of people gathered along the road.

Eyes wide open, people don’t lose a crumb. They display the same admiration for these sportsmen as for that of men. A curiousness ends his sentence with a long whistle: “They are all filiform”! And add: “We did well to come. For us, it was obvious”.

As with men, the organization of competition is also established. Barely the peloton passed than the signs are already dismantled and the people leave.

The Tour de France female has just passed into Vienne. Man or women, it’s the same fervor! It seems that women’s sport is catching up on that of men … in the field of cycling!
