The country had returned to the organization under the mandate of Joe Biden. According to the New York Post, the White House has particularly badly digested a recommendation on the fight against racism and a document on gender equality in India, published by UNESCO in recent years.
The United States was stakeholders at the UNESCO Foundation in the wake of the Second World War. The organization supports teaching, science and culture. In 1984, American president Ronald Reagan had already released his country from the organization, invoking mismanagement and an overly politicized approach to Soviet sauce. The reintegration had intervened twenty years later, in 2003, under George W. Bush.
