Down active population in the Jura

The figure of the active population was updated at the Swiss level, going from 36,270 to 35,902 people in the Jura. This modification causes an increase in the unemployment rate in the canton.

At the end of June, 2,306 job seekers were registered with the Jura Orp, including 1,781 unemployed and 525 non -unemployed job seekers.

This represents 39 unemployed more than at the end of May, as well as an unemployment rate by 5%, namely an increase of 0.1%. In annual variation, this same unemployment rate has an increase of 1.1 pt.

All job seekers followed at Orp increased by 30 people in June, and represents 6.4% of the active population domiciled in the Jura. In total, the Orp opened 259 files and closed 231 during the past month.

The unemployment rate is 5.2% in the Delémont district, 5.3% in that of Porrentruy and 3.4% in that of the Franches-Montagnes.

At the national level, the unemployment rate is 2.7% in June.

Regarding the reductions in the work schedule (RHT), 102 Jura companies were authorized to use it in June, 12 less than in May (114), and 62 more than a year ago, in June 2024 (40).
