A meteorological summer under the sign of heat
The meteorological summer in Belgium, which extends from June 1 to August 31, is already exceptional. Over the first two months (June and July), the average temperature amounts to 19.4 ° C against a normal of 17.7 ° C, displaying a temperature surplus of 1.7 ° C.
“These are excessively hot temperatures. It is obviously linked in June which was very very hot, it is even the second hotest month of June in Uccle”explains Pascal Mortmal.
Regarding sunshine, there too the meteorological summer is well above average. “We recorded 473h27 of sun from June 1 to July 31, which is much more than the seasonal normal which is 405:31. Belgium is therefore preparing to live two summer, hot and sunny summer weeks, without scorching excess to be expected for the moment, but with temperatures much above seasonal normal.
