Even if it is difficult to admit, the 2000s have been behind us for two decades already. The successes which propelled April Lavigne and simple plan were soothed by tens of thousands of people at the summer festival, like hymns from an era when youth was queen. Nostalgia, what!
These artists were not gathered for the first time. At the release of their respective first album, Simple Plan had opened for the Canadian singer, who proudly wore the tie at the time. Twenty-two years later, the latter is still the headliner.
The nostalgic for the 2000s were well served on the plains of Abraham where pop-punk was in the spotlight.

After a somewhat long introduction, the singer presented herself on stage, microphone sparkling in hand. The accompanying musicians supervised him on each side, leaving him all the room to shine in the center.
Barely 15 minutes after the start of this third period of the evening, the crowd had already heard the flagship songs Girlfriend et Complicated.

The video interludes projected at the bottom of the scene then offered to immerse themselves in the beginnings of its ascent. A break that allowed April Lavigne to take out her guitar to My Happy Ending.
Without too much surprise, but with great pleasure, April Lavigne invited Simple Plan to join her on stage to sing their collaboration published in the past few weeks Young & Dumb. The lyrics are full of references at the start of everyone’s career. The duo also invited spectators to go on the stage to dance at the end of the song. Each left with an autographed skateboard.
In order to properly seal the era in which the evening was anchored, the duo interpreted a cover of All the Small Things group Blink-182.

April Lavigne later offered the song Sk8ter is afraid Who was eagerly awaited by his admirers, just before leaving stage for a change of costume.
Back dressed in white, she finished the evening with the very designated I’m With Youleaving the train of her dress to fly in the wind.

The passion that lived Simple Plan did not leave it, even if its members are now in the forties slightly advanced. It is to the sound of the theme of Star War that the members of the group appeared on stage. Nothing less!
Without transition, the group has bitten in I’d Do Anything. In halfway, singer Pierre Bouvier already encouraged the crowd to hit hands and sing. No dead time, confetti and serpentine shot from the second song, Shut Up. Time to greet the crowd properly with great blows tabarnouche!
and the catchy Jump Forced the public already compacted to peel off the feet from the ground.

The group has now been four on stage since the departure of bassist David Desrosiers in 2020. The quartet was still well surrounded for this presence on the plains. Claudia Bouvette took over from Marie-Mai and came to join the group for the French version of the duo Jet lay.
During several great successes as Welcome to my Life or AddictedPierre Bouvier practically did not need to sing the chorus since the crowd did for him.
The opportunities are rather rare where Quebec artists are aimed at such large crowds during the Feq. Pierre Bouvier seemed to be proud of it.
We come from Montreal. We are Quebecers like you!
Contagious pleasure on stage
Beach balloons in the group colors jumped during Summer Paradisesong on which we usually hear the Sean Paul voice. The Jamaican singer was to be programming Feq; This year, but has canceled one more and more frequent thing in the past few weeks.

The crowd could hear a new song that is found in the documentary Simple Plan : From crowd to scene which will be available on the Prime Video platform on July 8. Like the documentary, the play Nothing Changesrefers to the 25 years of the group.
Just before launching the tube I’m Just a Kid, Pierre Bouvier underlined that the song that made them known was released 23 years ago. The play still had a second life recently with the I’m Just a Kid Challenge
a trend on social networks which consisted in recreating a childhood photo. In the background, images of the members of the group at different times in their lives paraded. A great opportunity to see Jeff Stinco with hair.

For the only time in the show, Chuck Comeau left his drums for a session of bodysurfing – crowd surfing. Pierre found himself on drums and Sébastien Lefebvre took over in singing.
Simple plan finally let the crowd sing on Perfect.
The energetic Chiara Savasta
The young Montreal artist was able to enjoy a well -filled site for a first part. Accompanied by three musicians, Chiara Savasta occupied the scene long and wide during the dozen songs that she had planned for her visit to the festival.

In her own equipment, the author-songwriter has also integrated two times of which California from Phantom Planet. With a teasing air, Chiara Savasta dedicated the song-theme of the popular American series The OC to all those who have a decade more than her. Any member of the mid-Tentaine public-age group strongly represented in the crowd on Friday evening-was able to receive this special dedication.

The title Black Sheep de Metric was also taken up by the young singer. This choice had probably not been left to chance since the voice of Chiara Savasta approaches that of Emily Haines, leader in Canadian training.
