(Quebec) The real domestic product (GDP) increased by 0.5 % in Quebec in the first quarter compared to the previous quarter, the Institute of Statistics of Quebec said on Thursday.

The organization mainly allocated this growth in the economy to the increase in investment in the business sector and to the balance of foreign trade, in particular total exports of goods and services.

Total exports of goods and services leaped 2.3 % in the first quarter of 2025, which represents the highest increase in the second quarter of 2022, the Institute underlined.
