Five departments placed in orange alert this Friday

Five departments of the southern half of the country are affected by the hot weather and orange alert this Friday, August 8.

Five departments are placed in orange heat wave by Météo-France for the day of this Friday, August 8. These are the Rhône, Tarn-et-Garonne, Tarn, Haute-Garonne and Hautes-Pyrénées.

“From this Thursday, temperatures will display a widespread increase, the beginnings of a scorching episode which will start on Friday in the Southwest and the Center-East,” said Météo-France.

These hot weather should be added to the following days and will continue the following days early next week.

Up to 39 ° C expected in the Tarn

According to Météo France forecasts, it will make up to 39 ° C in Castres and Albi in the afternoon. In Montauban, in Tarn-et-Garonne, the thermometer will be around 38 ° C, as in Toulouse in Haute-Garonne.

The Rhône department will not be outdone. Up to 37 ° C expected in Lyon, L’Arbresle and Villefranche-sur-Saône.

With the exception of the Côtes de la Manche, where a low disturbance brings clouds and an air a little fresher, Friday, the sun will dominate throughout the territory. Summer temperatures will also continue this weekend, “with simply a few isolated thunderstorms on the Alpes and Pyrenees massifs”, specifies Météo France.
