Four people lost their lives in a terrible road accident involving two vehicles which occurred on Wednesday evening on the honorable Brenda Robertson bridge.
The fatal incident took place around 9:30 p.m. on the bridge that connects Moncton and Riverview.
According to the first details revealed by the police, a tow truck and a car were in flames when first aid arrived.
The four occupants of the car were killed during the accident, while the driver of the converse man involved was not injured.
About fifteen firefighters remained on site during the operation which also required the intervention of agents of the detachment of the Codiac and Ambulance New Brunswick.
The identity of the victims, which will be the subject of an autopsy in order to determine the cause of the deaths, had not yet been revealed by the police when writing these lines.
An RCMP investigator specializing in the reconstruction of the road accident went to the scene to determine what is at the origin of the incident.
The bridge was closed to all traffic for several hours before being accessible to motorists again shortly before sunrise.
