A homecoming in Cotentin

As a child, he played with the children of farmers, observed the animals, immersed himself from the sounds and colors of the countryside. These childhood memories have forged an intimate link with nature and the animal worldbecome his favorite subjects.
After a passage through the Penninghen school, he joined Fine Arts in Paris. He developed his artistic practice there, between regular visits to the Louvre museum and works inspired by major works such as “the entrance to the Crusaders to Constantinople” by Eugène Delacroix. A singular course and faithful to the essentials

Self -taught in his young years, he sold his first watercolors in the markets from the age of 19 ans. His approach is demanding: he works Without photography, only from notes and sensations. He favors oil After starting with watercolor and gouache.
His style is based on a quest for lightattention to the simplicity of the subject, sometimes trivial, to which he pays tribute without artifice.
An immersive and sensitive exhibition
A herd of cows, a rapeseed field, a fall light: so many scenes seized not for what they show but for what they transmit. For the artist, “they came to pick me up”.
The title of the exhibition, “the lookout”, was proposed by Alice Baxter. He translates Frédéric Faye’s approach well: a Patient wait, attention to the world.
Two young visitors, Nolan and Gabriel, were able to discover the works before the opening. For Gabriel, the paintings “evoke a decomposed side, we do not recognize all the forms, Just the essentials ».
