Despite the maintenance in Super League, the German technician Tomas Oral will no longer direct the Grasshopper Club Zurich in 2025/26.
After FC Basel, FC Lausanne-Sport and FC Zurich, it is the turn of the Grasshopper Club Zurich to change its coach before the start of the next season. Tomas Oral will not receive new contract beyond June 30, 2025.
And yet the 52 -year -old German technician succeeded in his mission to maintain the “locusts” in the elite of Swiss football. Appointed on November 19, 2024, he led the Zurich training 24 times in Credit Suisse Super League for 7 victories, 9 draws and 8 defeats and (above all) insured the essentials by dominating FC Aarau during the promotion/relegation dam.
Sutter: “The club wants to make a new start”
“Tomas has accomplished remarkable work in a difficult period,” said sports director Alain Sutter. “I quickly discovered in him a competent coach and a very pleasant person. For the coming season, the club wishes to make a new start with a new sports orientation, a complete renewal of key positions and new momentum. Even if our paths separate, there remains great respect between us. ”
The name of the future coach of the Grasshopper Club Zurich will be unveiled soon.
