Gérald Darmanin displays his “Great firmness”. According to those around him, the Minister of Justice has “Send in the early afternoon [lundi 21 juillet] Instructions of great firmness to public prosecutors ” Regarding the threats received by parliamentarians who voted for the Duplomb law.

The Keeper of the Seals will ask them to “Systematizing criminal proceedings and setting up individual support when parliamentarians are threatened, whatever their vote” on said law. The entourage of the minister evokes “Unacceptable threats that many parliamentarians suffer because of their vote on the Duplumb law”.

According to the Interior Ministry, at least nine attacks on parliamentarians have been identified since the ballot, mainly “Degradations of permanence, gatherings in front of permanence or outrages on social networks”.

Elected officials having voted for or against the bill are concerned: MP Modem Delphine Lingemann filed a complaint against X after the degradation of her permanence in Puy-de-Dôme, where posters compile the names of the deputies who voted in favor of the law were stuck. On the opponents’ side, the facade of the permanence of the environmental deputy Jean-Louis Roumégas was also vandalized by rural coordination in Montpellier.

In early July, Parliament definitively adopted the proposal for an agricultural law Duplomb-Menonville, including, among other things, a decree measure of reintroduction under the conditions of a neonicotinoid pesticide and presented as a response to agricultural anger of 2024.
In 11 days, a petition available on the site of the National Assembly, against this bill, collected more than 1.3 million signatures, therefore largely more than the threshold of the 500,000 allowing a debate without vote in the Assembly.
