Girons’ fever extends to French -speaking Switzerland. Under the impetus of the youth of the Franches-Montagnes, this Vaudoise and Friborg tradition is established in the Jura. The canton welcomes its first meeting this weekend in Noblemont.
Lands for sports games, scenes for concerts and inexhaustible bars for small and large thirsts: the members of the youth of the Franches-Montagnes have put their hands in the dough so that the party is successful.
Passed on the model of Vaudois and Friborg Girons, this first Jura edition aims to federate the youths of the canton and create a link. “It is really a just incredible life experience to say that, for a year, we all put ourselves together to build something with his hands, to make ourselves proud and make his village proud,” said in the 12:45 am RTS Axelle Favre, central vice-president of Vaudish Champagnard Youth.
All generations welcome
According to the president of the youth of the Franches-Montagnes Alexandre Frésard, there was a real request for such an event in the Jura. “In any case, we really have only positive feedback from people,” he said.
And the public is already there. “We know that there will be young people who will come to the games and who will camp. We have already received inscriptions,” says Alexandre Fredes. “We know that there will be people at the bar. We have artists and we know that there will be public.”
This fold is not only intended for young people, specifies the organizer, who also hopes to attract families and people over 30. “The goal is to attract all generations and to please everyone and not to be centered only on youth,” he explains, saying, however, “quite confident”.
Perpetuate
The youth of the Franches-Montagnes hopes that this meeting can happen again. The next organizers will be determined by sports games: the youth who wins them will be responsible for organizing the next edition.
“Our expectations is that there are people who come and that it continues, that other youths are organizing, people see the work we have provided and that people have fun especially,” said Melissa Tschudi, member of the organizing committee of this first meeting of the Jeunesses Jurassiennes.
The event takes place from July 11 to 13 in Noblemont, on the site of the Festival du Chant du Gros. Other French -speaking cantons could follow. Reflections are underway in Valais, Geneva and the Neuchâtel mountains.
