‘Godfather of Shock Rock,’ 77, Makes Exciting Announcement and Fans Can’t Wait originally appeared on Parade.
The genre of shock rock is defined by Alice Cooper. The man, as well as the band, have been terrifying parents and principals for years, with their signature horror style having created much of the aesthetic beginnings of metal.
Alice Cooper split from his band of the same name in the mid ’70s, carrying on his solo career under his newly changed name. Releasing music all through today, Cooper is one of the most prolific and influential solo artists in rock music. Without his experimentation with pushing the envelope, we don’t get heavy metal, which is a serious accomplishment.
Recently, Cooper made a pretty exciting announcement about one of his classic songs on his TikTok account, and fans are pumped.
“Billion Dollar Babies,” being the title track from one his most celebrated albums will be having a YouTube live event as of today. The announcement, posted yesterday, has fans racing tot he comments with excitement.

All of this fanfare for the performance is accompanied by the announcement of a new album earlier this month, which fans can’t wait for. “The Revenge of Alice Cooper” releases on July 25th.
