Google will ask you to interconnect all of its applications to enjoy a more personalized experience in Gmail, Google Docs, Gemini or Google Drive.
If you open your Gmail reception box, in the coming hours, there is a good chance that you can see an alert pop-up. The Mountain View company wishes to request your authorization to interconnect all the workspace applications you use daily. The goal? Give you “productivity thanks to intelligent features in Google Workspace”.
Smart functions to go faster
By default, these intelligent features are disabled in Workspace. To take advantage of it, Google must therefore ask you for your authorization before setting them up on your account. And for good reason, these intelligent functions aim to use your content and activity in the different Google Workspace applications to offer you more personalized experiences.
Concretely, if you decide to activate them, Workspace can, for example, be responsible for recovering the dates of meetings and other events detected in your emails (invitations, flight routes, various meetings, etc.) in order to automatically create the corresponding events in the calendar. All without you having to do it manually. On Gmail, Google Cat and Google Meet, these intelligent functions will also be able, for example, suggest answers, or even display a summary above an email (for your trips, your packages, etc.). In addition, Gemini, Google’s smart assistant, will be able to summarize content or create drafts for you in messaging.
A gradual deployment
Last January, Google announced the deployment of these features for workspace users, without however specifying the exact deployment calendar. It now seems that these features are ready for French users, Google having started to display its alert pop-up.
This will give you the choice to activate, or not, intelligent features in Google Workspace, but also in other Google products. With regard to other Google products, the activation of intelligent functions will allow you to display, among other things, your reservations in a restaurant and your take -out orders in Google Maps, or take advantage of loyalty cards in Google Wallet.
