Gran well represented at the 30th Congress of the International Society of Biomechanics 2025

Clément Pruniault, a doctoral student in biomedical sciences, Guillaume Vadez, master’s degree in the mastery of physical activity sciences, Bastien Couëpel, a doctoral student in biomedical sciences, Mathieu Tremblay, doctoral student in biomedical sciences, Mariève Houle, postdoctoral trainee at the University of Angers, Julien Ducas, student in doctorate in biomedic sciences, Eléna Payen, a doctorate student in biomedical sciences, and Jacques Abboud, professor in the Department of Sciences of Physical Activity at UQTR.

The research group on neuromusculoskeletal (GRAN) conditions was very well represented by its students at the 2025 Congress of the International Society of Biomechanics (ISB), one of the most recognized scientific events in the field of biomechanics. The event took place in Stockholm from July 27 to 31, 2025.

Several students’ students of the Gran were selected to present the results of their research work in the form of oral presentations and by scientific posters. Among them, we find, Guillaume Vadez, a master’s student in physical activity sciences, Eléna Payen, a doctoral student in biomedical sciences, Clément Pununault, doctoral student in biomedical sciences, Mathieu Tremblay, doctoral student in biomedical sciences, Julien Ducas, student in the doctorate in biomedical sciences, Bastien Couëpel, student in doctorate in science in science Biomedicals, and Mariève Houle, graduated from a doctorate at the UQTR and currently postdoctorating at the University of Angers. They were accompanied by Professor Jacques Abboud of the Department of Sciences of Physical Activity.

The International Society of Biomechanics (ISB) is an internationally renowned scientific organization that promotes the progress of fundamental research and applied in biomechanics. Its biennial congress is one of the most important events worldwide in this area. It brings together more than 1,500 participants from all continents, allowing multidisciplinary sharing of the most recent scientific, technological and clinical advances. The students of Gran members took full advantage of this opportunity to network and enrich their knowledge in biomechanics.
