Hadjar wants to interrupt a ‘frustrating’ series in Belgium

Isack Hadjar wants to continue his good performance series this weekend on the occasion of the Belgian Grand Prix. But above all, the Racing Bulls driver wants to end a series of three races without arrival in the points.

The Frenchman has very good memories of Spa-Francorchamps, where he won his first major race in a promotion formula, and he won again last year in Formula 2, which puts him in confidence.

“I can’t wait to run again this weekend on one of my favorite circuits. Spa-Francorchamps is the circuit where I won my first single-seater race, in addition to that of last year in F2” said Hadjar.

“It is frustrating not to have scored points in the last three racing weekends, so I intend to come back to us, on a race weekend where we have the sprint format, which is something that I like.”

Liam Lawson has scored more points, since he finished sixth in Austria, and he is also a very fan of the Spa-Francorchamps circuit: “We are going to put the double bites to finish the first part of the season, while we head to the last two races before the summer break.”

“SPA is an emblematic circuit with a lot of history. I appreciated running there in other categories, and I am therefore impatient to tackle it at the wheel of a formula 1. The weather conditions promise to be interesting this weekend, as is always the case on this circuit.”

“I can’t wait to get back into the car after the short break we had to update, and I feel ready to finish the first part of the season.”

On the management side, it will be a weekend of discovery for Racing Bulls, since Belgium will mark the beginnings of Alan Permanement as director of the Faenza team. Tim Goss, the team’s technical director, details the challenges that await his troops this weekend.

“For the 13th round of the F1 calendar, we continue in Europe with the GP of Belgium. The Spa-Francorchamps circuit is distinguished in the F1 season by its length of 7 km, its difficult combination of high speed turns, long straight lines and significant altitude changes” said GOSS.

“Nestled in the Ardennes forest, it is also known for its unpredictable weather conditions. Often wet at one time or another from the weekend, we will have to prepare for a session on wet soil at one time or another.”

“Due to the high requirements of the tire track, Pirelli chose the hardest compound, the C1, as the main running tire. In 2024, the C2 is deleted and the tender compounds are C3 and C4.”

“It is a sprint weekend and it includes two qualifying sessions and two races over the three days. The settings will rely on a lower rear fin level due to high speeds and, with fewer tracks to work on the settings, we depend more on our pre-couring preparations in the simulator.”

“We carry out some modest developments for performance and a dedicated rear wing. The preparations went well and we are impatient to take up the challenge of a busy weekend.”
