Sunday, July 20, 2025, off Holmes Beach in Florida, a sixty man was arrested after having violently assaulted his wife during a sea trip.
An outing at sea off the Florida turned bad last Sunday when a man had violent behavior towards his wife, following the rupture of his fishing line, reports the New-York Post.
Her husband abandons her at sea
The couple, married for three years, had taken the boat from their home in Holmes Beach. According to court documents, the victim said her husband already seemed tense at the time of departure. While she was sitting at the back of the boat, a fishing line gave way, which caused a angry reaction in humans.
Fearing for her safety, the woman threw herself into the water, clinging to a swimming pool fried to float, then a rope attached to the boat. The man would then have detached the rope and caught off, leaving it alone at sea. He would have returned after having seen another boat nearby.
A fight to survive
Once back on board, the victim claims to have been physically attacked. To try to escape the situation, she simulated a state of unconsciousness. The man would then have moved her to the back of the boat, trying to drown and strangle her and threaten her with death, specify our colleagues from New-York Post.
Thinking of having left it, the man would have hit the road to the coast. But the woman, hung on a scale at the back of the boat, refused to let go. During a stop, she managed to go back to board a second time, before being pushed back to the sea again. She then grabbed a rope and remained attached to the return to Holmes Beach. Having managed to climb a third time on the bridge, she was finally able to flee and go to a police station.
Hospitalized, she presents several injuries, including a serious cerebral concussion, a swollen eye and marks on the neck and arms. Her husband was arrested for attempted murder.
