What care? Adapted physical activity slots (one year’s care) take place in the physiotherapy cabinet. The sessions are collective, five people maximum, but focus on the individual needs of the participants. “We also offer adapted socio-aesthetic care to mitigate the side effects of oncological treatments,” adds Rémi Delaporte. These are “manicure, pedicure, facial care and relaxing massages, Alicia Hérin, socio-esthetician. It can also be makeup to trace the eyebrow line for example. A parenthesis of well-being often conducive to the release of speech. Shiatsu and dietary consultations complete the system expanded by psychological care of the sick person and their loved ones. The consultations take place in the cabinet of the psychologist in Brulange. Finally, note the possibility of benefiting from the cognitive rehabilitation and remediation program with a neuropsychologist (in Visio). Objective: to reduce the cognitive impacts linked to cancer and treatments.
Punctual financial support. According to figures from the League, 38 % of sick people find a drop in their resources due to the disease. “The committee can provide financial support thanks to the granting of occasional aid,” said Rémi Delaporte. This may concern children’s guards, the difficulties in paying electricity bills, rent … Just set up a file with a social worker who will transmit to the League. The aids are paid directly to the provider.
A mesh on Mosellan territory
In 2024, around thirty people benefited from support for supports Morhange health home. The system had been set up at the end of 2022. In Moselle, 53 places welcomed these support treatments including Valmont (at the Maison de la Culture), Saint-Avold (only physical activity adapted to the Sport Health House) and Carling (healthy sports hall, only for suitable physical activity). In 2024 still, € 151,465 were engaged by the League against cancer in favor of support care. To benefit from it, the medical certificate issued by the general practitioner or the oncologist is compulsory.
