The rate of the booklet A will experience a significant drop from August 1, 2025.

Economy – A placement that will bring (a lot) less. The Banque de France and the Minister of the Economy Éric Lombard announced this Wednesday, July 16, the new remuneration rate of booklet A and LDDS (Sustainable and Solidarity Development Booklet). Today set at 2.4 %, it will drop 1.7 % on August 1.

This withdrawal, unprecedented by its magnitude since 2009, is the second of the year after a first decrease of 3 % to 2.4 % on February 1. The French have more than 600 billion euros in savings on booklets A and LDDS, capped respectively at 22,950 euros and 12,000 euros. Guaranteed, available and tax exemption which they are particularly fond of.

The rate of booklet A is calculated every six months, mid-January and mid-July, from the average inflation rate (excluding tobacco) and an interbank interest rate depending on European monetary policy. These two elements have been down since the start of the year.

The LEP (Popular Savings Booklet (LEP) will experience a boost from the Banque de France and the government. Its calculation rule set its rate at 2.2 %, it will ultimately be 2.7 %. Significantly less than the current 3.5 %.

“With these new rates, we protect the savings of the French”said Bercy in a statement. This drop offers a bowl of air to social housing actors, who borrow from the rate of booklet A, and banks, which will have less interest to pay to savers at the end of the year.
