The runners of the Tour de France women 2025 will land in the Alps this Friday, August 1. A 7th stage between Bourg-en-Bresse and ChambĂ©ry, synonymous with legs before attacking the large Alpine passes. Course, timetables and traffic … This is everything you need to know about this stage.
The 154 runners may have the legs already a little heavy before attacking the Alps. But on Friday August 1, they will have no choice but to start three days in the mountain. A new adventure in this Tour de France women 2025 which will start with a 7th stage between Bourg-en-Bresse (Ain) and Chambéry (Savoie).
The peloton will start from Bourg-en-Bresse towards Savoy. The stage begins with a long passage of dish by crossing in particular the villages of Château-Gaillard and Sault-Brénaz before riding in Isère to Pont-de-Beauvoisin.
During this 7th stage, the runners will leave from Bourg-en-Bresse (Ain) to reach Chambéry (Savoie).

Then the runners will win the Savoy and then start serious things with three climbs listed to the pre -Alpine and the Col du Granier. This 159.7 km long stage will be concluded with a descent over fifteen kilometers to reach Chambéry.
It may be necessary to expect a start of the race with attempts to escape, but where the sprinters will give everything on this first part of the fairly flat stage. There is no doubt that they will all be at the rendezvous of the Groslée-Saint-Benoit intermediary sprint, located 73.2 km after departure.
But the rest of the day of August 1 promises to be very interesting with the first difficulties. On the menu of the day: the Saint-Franc coast in Savoie (3.8 km at 6.9 %, classified in 2nd category), followed by the Côte de Berland in Isère (1.2 km at 7.2 %, classified in 4th category) and finally the Granier pass in the Chartreuse massif (8.9 km at 5.4 %, classified in 2nd category).
Friday, August 1, the Tour caravan will leave the Marguerite rue Austria of Bourg-en-Bresse (Ain) around 11:30 am, two hours before the start of the peloton (1:30 p.m.) from this 7th stage. According to ASO estimates, the runners should compete in the intermediate sprint of Groslée-Saint-Benoit around 2:18 p.m.
An hour later, the peloton should rub the first difficulty of the day, the Saint-Franc coast located at the 112nd km. The climbs will then follow one another with an arrival at the Berland coast scheduled for 3:36 p.m. The first cyclists will then arrive at the top of the Col du Granier (1,134 meters) at 4:04 p.m.
The descent should be carried out fairly quickly. And the latest explanations on the finish line in Chambéry should take place at 4:31 p.m.
On the occasion of the Tour de France women 2025, several activities are planned in Bourg-en-Bresse (Ain), the city departure from this 7th stage. A fan zone located hasUX rear of the Royal Monastery of Brou will offer balance sheets, a BMX show or a catering area from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Consequently, several axes will be cut to traffic during the event. Same program in Chambéry which even provides festivities from Thursday, July 31 and until Saturday August 2, date of the departure of the 8th stage of the Tour de France women. The parking lots of Verdun, Roissard, Europe and the courthouse will thus be closed to the public. The municipality has also set up a traffic plan. It invites users to leave their car outside the city and to take the free shuttles made available to them.

The Tour de France 2025 will take place from July 5 to 27, with a big departure from Lille and a traditional arrival on the Champs-Élysées in Paris. The course of this 112nd edition, entirely traced in France, totals 3,320 km distributed over 21 stages, including two individual time trials and five arrivals at the top.
