News Game I started this game again 3 times before finishing it entirely. It is now one of my best experiences in recent years
There are some games for which you have to take it two, three times. For me, it was this particular title. I tell you about it in this article.
In the life of a player, there are certain games that do not pass. It can be because of a too long intro or a gameplay which takes too long to reveal itself. With Death Stranding, I think I had both at a time. It took me three attempts to completely enter the bizarre adventure of Hideo Kojima. But, once I was set foot in the stirrup, it is impossible to win.
“Is it me or is it weird here?”
You certainly know, the first Death Stranding is a game that divides: either we love this Uber Eat simulation, where most of the gameplay is literally to chain deliveries (most often on foot), or we hate. For my part, I went there the open chakras : I like perched concepts, and the contemplation and “stroll” dimension of the title, which is more breathtaking natural sets – at least at the time -, made me want.
But that was without counting Kojima’s paw, his love for cut-scene extension and exaggeratedly philosophical tirades, and even his artistic paw (I first had trouble with the design of the characters and the global vibe of the universe). Because Clearly, Death Stranding does not let you go right away in the big bath. When we launch a new part, we first have the right at 2 hours of exhibition on the world itself and its various protagonists.
There are a few gameplay adventures and sequences, but when the time comes to resume the controller, it’s as if we were getting out of a slightly too long cinema: we have numb legs and as the gameplay is particularly slow – compared to industry standards -, well There is no “start” that restarts the machine. We get bored quickly.
After the rain, the good weather
Fortunately, after this big introduction, Death Stranding really turns out: we take pleasure in chaining deliveries, optimizing our trips, progressing in history, while rubbing with hostile nature. For my part, I was really touched by the writing of the secondary characters. Kojima uses it to tell a whole bunch of facets of mourning and the link with the afterlife (I know, it’s cheerful), which takes a unique dimension here thanks to the strike, a place that connects the world of the dead to that of the living. Brief, In my eyes, it is a masterpiece. You must certainly be violated a bit to get in it, but it’s worth it.
